So you want to know how to reduce your book clutter?

I understand how you feel. In fact, I have had a huge problem with owning way too many books myself. I simply found it impossible to part with them.

And it was so embarrassing too! I hardly had any space for myself, nor space for any new books I might have wanted. And forget about inviting people over.

1) You can get them back!

Yes, thanks to the internet, you can get just about any book back that you have released back into the world, if you do find that you regret having given it up. Just like I was able to get those books back that I sold, only to discover a year or two later that I needed them back.

2) You can actually turn them into cash!

And I’m not talking about eBay. I’m sure you considered that and feel about them the exact way I do. It’s such a huge pain! So much work!

You have to write up the description, take a photo, upload the photo, and on and on. And then you pay listing fees until your profit has been eaten up and you’re wondering for how much longer you should list it. And then you have to answer questions and deal with customer service. And that’s all before you get to pack up your book, take it to the post office and ship it.

Obviously, that’s no good.

It’s easy — no photos to take and no descriptions to write ever. And neither are there any listing fees.

Okay, sure, you still have to pack them up and take them to the post office, but that’s just about the only step. And it feels good to send them off to someone who’s looking forward to getting your “old” books.
